Allerseelen
Abenteuerliches Herz
Compact Disc

The songs and compositions on this release were inspired by some magical mystery tours to Spain and influenced by Ernst Jünger´s famous book Das abenteuerliche Herz (Adventurous Heart) with its surreal descriptions of dreams and flowers and landscapes. Surrealistische Tonkunst - Surrealistic music - might also be called the unique blend of Allerseelen who sometimes describe their music as an alchemical field of force somewhere between krautpop and folklore magico or folklore magnetico. Abenteuerliches Herz is again an adventurous release with its magical synthesis of classical, folk, industrial and pop elements, this time also containing elements with a specific Andalusian and even Argentinian mood - a magical mystery tour, a travel in time and space. The CD starts with the fiery song Feuersalamander which has been described as military rock with its feverish guitars and the raw power of its percussion. The next song, Spanische Tänzerin, is based on a beautiful poem by Rainer Maria Rilke on a female Flamenco dancer - the song combines some Flamenco elements, a hypnotic and distorted bass guitar combined with the noises of flames. Nest is an example of Allerseelen´s ability to create also beautiful, atmospheric folklore magico songs - it is inspired by Iggy Pop´s song Shoeshine Girl. Rioja, a Spanish song, combines industrial pop with flamenco splinters. It reminds in some way of the best recordings of Underworld. Skarabäus, again based on a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, refers to the passion of Ernst Jünger for the beetles - the scarab  as symbol for eternity, for eternal recurrence. Marques de Pubol is another recording with Spanish vocals about the strange relation between the actress and singer Amanda Lear and the Catalan painter Salvador Dali - this song already was released in a Catalan version with the vocals by Rosa Solé, Barcelona, on the Allerseelen 7" Canco de somni/Marques de Pubol. Santa Sangre is the title of a well-known song by Allerseelen - but this version is very different, it is based on a powerful industrial loop with various classical elements. It is a new version of the Allerseelen song dedicated to Alejandro Jodorowsky, one of the greatest living directors with movies full of blood and cruelty, full of mysticism and symbolism. Maybe it is just a matter of time that Allerseelen are releasing a release to this director. The old Allerseelen song Sturmlied with beautiful lyrics by Ricarda Huch, appears again in a new shape, this time it manifests as a flamenco song with some industrial elements. Kastalische Quelle, a song on love and wine, with its emphasis on bass and percussion and its groovy loops could even be a song by Massive Attack. Abenteuerliches Herz is a new version of the almost trance inducing Cuore Avventuroso on the Allerseelen CD Venezia. The last track, Annäherungen, which is the title of a book by Ernst Jünger on his experiences with various drugs, is again unique - it starts as an almost krautrock song but then turns into a neo-classical composition. The CD booklet is like always strikingly illustrated, showing many photographs of the mysterious hammer-shaped or mushroom-shaped Taula monuments on the island of Menorca.
